Had to do it…

 

I drew a Kaworu on one of the Kaworu-esque shoe templates I made for the Boston Marathon. *shame*

What’s always bothered me about “fandom” and getting involved in “fan communities”  is that there is a very low tolerance for people liking or disliking things within that genre.  It’s why I stay off of sites like tumblr because any dissension from whatever the majority opinion is automatically makes you a “hater” or it means that you hate the fans of that show or manga, etc.

 

I don’t get it –  I don’t get how someone can take liking a show to mean that anyone that doesn’t like it sucks, or is a bad person or a hater.  I’d like to think this an affliction of only younger fans, but I’ve been around long enough to know that sadly, it isn’t.

 

Just had to get that off my chest.

This was drawn in the midst of a very turbulent time in my life,  I think 2009 or so.  I’d gone back home to visit my Dad for a few days and just decided, one night, to stay up late and draw.  It was what I used to do on a nightly basis when I was growing up, but hadn’t done in some time.

Ripping Myself Off

 

February blew by me fast this year.  Lack of updates aside, I feel like I’m slowly but surely progressing along with the various projects I’ve had going on inside my head since the beginning of time.

 

Anywho, it’s March already!!  Why is this exciting?  It means that I have been maintaining this blog for one year!  I’ve somehow trained my procrastinating butt to update at least once a month (a feat for someone like me).  Who knows what this next year will bring, but I will certainly do my best to continue to give this blog the attention it deserves.  It’s been good for me.  Adding to my zen and such.
